Buhari Woos Foreign Leaders At UN General Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met on the sidelines with President Jacob Zuma of South Africa and President Macky Sall of Senegal in New York. At both meetings, the President encouraged foreign investors to come into the country as safety of their investments is guaranteed.

In the meeting with President Jacob Zuma, President Buhari mentioned that the insurgency of Boko Haram was been handled on all fronts, with the use of arms being complemented by a de-radicalization process, which he said is already bearing fruit. Buhari further explained that Nigeria and South African businessmen could partner in diversifying Nigeria’s economy especially in the areas of mining and agriculture.

President Zuma, while replying said that he was interested in economic and trade partnerships between the two African giants with would further stimulate both economies.

While discussing with President Sall of Senegal, Buhari once again brought up the issue of security, stating that it must be given everything it needs so that the continent could achieve development.
