The Nigerian domestic bourse opened the week with a +0.07% gain, as the NGX-All Share Index closed at 144,722.47 points. Investors’ interest and gains in DANGSUGAR (+9.74%), STERLINGNG (+7.33%), CADBURY (+4.52%) WEMABANK (+4.40%) and thirty-nine (39) others ensured that the market closed positively, as the ASI year-to-date (YTD) yield rose to +40.61 %.
UNIVINSURE led the top 5 most traded equities with (202.25)mn shares traded in 633 deals valued at N265.82mn. LINKASSUR followed with (77.90)mn, LASACO (66.42)mn, MBENEFIT (57.81)mn, and VERITASKAP with (53.35)mn units of shares, which made up 39.92% of the total volume and 6.83% of the total value of traded transactions for the session. ACCESSCORP (1,749) and MTNN (1,729) led one hundred and twenty-five (125) others on the deals table.
The total volume traded today decreased by (-16.56%) to end the day with 1.5bn shares valued at N16.17bn traded in 38,160 deals, compared to 1.37bn shares valued at N13.92bn traded in 32,065 deals. The Market Index closed at 144,722.47 points compared to 144,628.20 points for Friday 15/08/2025; signifying an increase of (+0.07%), as market capitalisation gained N59.64bn to close at N91.56tn against N91.50tn, and also signifying an increase of (+0.07%) for the same period on the equities market.
Analysis of trading activities for the day shows that one hundred and twenty-seven (127) equities were traded on, forty-three (43) equities appreciated, and twenty-seven (27) equities depreciated. In contrast, fifty-seven (57) equities remained unchanged. UPDC (+10.00%), AIICO (+10.00) led forty-one (41) others on the gainer’s table, while STANBIC (-9.99 %), PZ (-7.89%) led twenty-five (25) others on the laggard’s table.
