Three suicide bombers blew themselves up in Cameroon’s far north on Friday morning, killing themselves and two others, just hours after another suicide bomber blew himself up in the same region where Boko Haram has been wreaking havoc for years.
Local newspaper, L’Oeil du Sahel, said the triple bombing took place at a locality called Bargaram, the department of Logone and Chari in Cameroon’s far north. There were five dead; the three suicide bombers, two other people, the newspaper said, adding that two persons were also injured.
Earlier on, a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance of Tolkomari locality also in Cameroon’s far north region along the border with Nigeria, a day after about six people were killed at a school in Kerawa, and four days after about 37 others were murdered in suicide attacks in Bodo on Monday morning that also left more than 70 people injured.
Boko Haram terrorists, who pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in March last year, and have since modelled their barbarism after the Middle East killers, have stepped up attacks in Cameroon in recent months, even as they continue to bomb Nigeria’s northeast where they remain strong and are based in the Sambisa forest.
