At least 89 convicted Boko Haram members have been sentenced to death in Cameroon.
Local newspaper, L’Oeil du Sahel, said the 89 Boko Haram members were sentenced to death in Maroua, the capital of Cameroon’s far north region.
About a thousand other suspected terrorists are awaiting trial, the newspaper said.
Boko Haram has killed at least 1300 people in Cameroon since 2013, including 70 soldiers. But Amnesty International had said that people were being arrested randomly and accused of being members of Boko Haram without any proof.
