I have been quiet on Facebook because I was learning IT things behind the scene and in the next few days or weeks, I will be sharing with you things that took me days and months to learn.
If you are using a computer or running a website, if you download things on your computer, compress sizes of images, videos and audios, I will be showing you things I spent time, days, and weeks learning.
If you are driving on Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, you see an advertisement with a slider, going left or right, up or down, or fading, you find it interesting but you do not know how to do it on your own, I will be showing you here how to do it.
The reason I will be showing you is because most so called “IT” guys do not have time. Most people do not read and do not ask YouTube and as a result, the “IT” guys do the reading and the watching and we pay them.
I can even show you step by step how to design a website with no coding, no HTML, no CSS, no Java.. If you simply want to know how to make money online or post article on your WordPress site or add social media platforms such as Facebook or Twitter, I am your man. So if you are ready, I am ready.
The first thing anyone on my Facebook page has to know is that YouTube is the answer. Anything on earth, including how to wear a shirt is found on Youtube.
Anything you are struggling to learn or accomplish, someone else has struggled and found a solution to it. Let’s say you do not know anything about digital marketing, just go to YouTube.Com and enter ‘digital marketing’.
You will have thousands of people sharing their experiences with you, their tips, the mistakes to avoid and things to do.
If you want to know how to run a restaurant, just ask YouTube by going there and typing ‘how to run a restaurant’ and a couple of men and women will begin to explain to you. The same thing with Website and so on.
If you do not know much about IT and you feel you cannot design your website yourself, trust me, I have done it and I will teach you so that you can do it. So today, I am going to be talking about choosing your website.
Let’s assume you really want your own website, all you know is that you want a website that is about fashion. You know what you want but you cannot fully explain to the IT guy what you want, I have been there. This is what you do.
First you need to understand that many people face the same problem and some people decided to provide a solution. They started designing TEMPLATES also known as website THEMES. They design a theme, that is the outlook of a website with basic tools and they put it on sale. You then see it, watch it live and decide to buy it if you like it. They founded what is called THEMES FOREST. That is a forest with themes or templates.
And so if you want to see some of the templates on the market, just go to themeforest.net and type the area you want to focus on. For instance fashion, politics, etc. The theme TheSimonAtebaNews, The Punch newspaper or ThisDay newspaper are using is called newspaper. Just go tothemeforest.net and type Newspaper and they will show you a live demo.
This is important because out of thousands of templates, you will surely see something that looks like what you want. A theme or template is not a website. It is the dress, the outlook upon which will be built a website.
So first lesson today is that go to themeforest.net and type fashion, politics, lifestyle, business, travel, anything you want and you will see websites’ templates with prices. Do that and tomorrow, I will show you how to move on from there.
